The story
This is a gorgeous handmade studio folk art pottery polar bear figure.
This piece was expertly handcrafted in South Africa by The Fenix pottery studio using traditional Raku firing methods.
It features a glossy cream-colored glaze with a dramatic, highly pronounced smoky crackle pattern running across the entire body, beautifully contrasted by raw, matte clay on the snout and feet.
The inner thigh features the incised artist initials "FS" along with minor production marks on the bottoms of the feet. This whimsical, stylized bear has fantastic expressions with hand-painted detailed eyes.
