The story
This is a beautiful, classic mid-century modern emerald green glass decanter, often referred to as a "genie bottle" or "captain's ship decanter." Crafted in the iconic Empoli style of Italy during the 1960s, this piece features a striking, deeply embossed diamond-point pattern around its wide, squat body, which beautifully catches and reflects the light.
The decanter comes complete with its original matching, large faceted round glass ball stopper.
The underside of the base boasts an elegant, detailed starburst ray pattern. It makes a stunning decorative statement piece on a bar cart, hutch, or liquor cabinet.
