The story

exceptionally well-preserved piece of vintage American military and engineering history: a WWII-era Swift & Anderson "Army Locator's Level" Engineer's Sighting Level.

This pocket-sized hand transit surveying tool comes completely matching with its original brown labeled cardboard box and its complete, unfolded "Hand Sighting Levels" schematic instruction sheet (published by Swift & Anderson, Inc., 111 Summer St., Boston, Mass.).

The heavy black-finished brass optical body houses an integrated top bubble level. When looking through the eyepiece, the internal mirror mechanism, horizontal crosshairs, and adjustment grid are completely intact and clean, reflecting the spirit vial for field grading, landscaping, or foundational alignments.

A stellar addition to any military field gear collection, vintage science museum, or antique tool display!
