The story
A highly detailed, vintage Mid-Century Satsuma-style Ceramic Elephant Smoking Set. Made and hand-painted in Japan, this multi-functional piece serves as an ashtray, cigarette trough, and match holder all in one!
The piece features a majestic elephant with an upturned trunk (a traditional symbol of good luck). It is lavishly decorated in a classic Satsuma palette, using heavy, raised moriage enamel accents in vibrant orange, olive green, cream, and deep chocolate brown, all lavishly outlined in bright gold gilt filigree.
