The story
A lovely collected pair of antique Blue Willow transferware plates featuring traditional blue-and-cream chinoiserie landscapes with pagodas, trees, bridges, boats and birds.
One plate carries a blue printed backstamp reading “Staffordshire Warranted Stone China.” The second plate is unmarked. Although closely related in appearance, the plates are not an identical factory-matched pair: one is larger, and there are small differences in the central scenes, borders and coloring.
Approximate diameters:
• Larger plate: approximately 10 inches
• Smaller plate: approximately 9 to 9¼ inches
Condition
