Antique Northwood Glass “Cashews” Blue Opalescent Ruffled Bowl

Beautiful antique American pressed-glass bowl made by the Northwood Glass Company in the collectible Cashews pattern.

The bowl features repeating cashew-shaped scroll motifs, small teardrop details, a radiating sunburst center and a deeply ruffled rim finished with white opalescent beading. The blue opalescent color shifts from clear blue through cloudy white along the shaped edge.

Dating to approximately the early 1900s, this bowl measures approximately 8⅛ inches across and 2½ inches high.

The glass was tested with UV lighting and displayed green fluorescence under a 395 nm black light. The exact cause of the fluorescence has not been independently confirmed, and the piece is therefore described as UV-reactive rather than as uranium glass.

Very good antique condition with no chips, cracks or repairs observed. Early pressed glass may contain minor bubbles, mold irregularities, straw marks or light surface wear consistent with age and manufacture.
